$(this).About(function(arg){
¶ This is the personal/professional (to separate the two would be impossible) website of Keith Spencer Parent: a creative director/visionary, graphic designer, web designer/developer and abstract thinker practicing and residing in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area of the Southern United States.
¶ As a creator and/or sculptor of the visual language(s) that represent the face and dialog of my clients’ companies, I consider myself to also be what I feel all graphic designers should consider themselves (whether they step up to the role and assume responsibility for the work they do or not): a business consultant. While I may not be the guy to help streamline your overhead or advise you on investment strategies, I do understand exactly how your businesses’ face and voice effects its demographic – even when you don’t. I will also give solid reasons to defend every decision that gets made and I have been known to argue better practices with a client for their own sake and, hopefully, understanding.
¶ I fight the habit of gravity by utilizing both sides of my brain - my niche is the rare resolve between the technical and creative aspects of web design and web development that are often missing in many production environments. My creative and technical abilities are at the top of my field and I am always striving to expand, define and deliver a better result with every project I assume. I am very passionate about my work and I wear it on my sleeve - right next to my heart and kidney (so, please, no pointing or laughing).
¶ I have an extensive amount of experience in utilizing and implementing various methods of the best practices and current standards in (X)HTML/XML, CSS, PHP, jQuery / Javascript / AJAX, and Flash / Actionscript 1.0 - 3.0. I have founded and employed a plethora of techniques to create a seamless user experience regardless of format, code frameworks and/or data flow.
¶ My many years of high-end web design and production have taught me the value of content placement and the relevance of a clear informational/typographical hierarchy to assist: user needs, product(s)/service(s) focus, and search engine optimization/placement. I am highly experienced in leveraging my clients’ content to place their web site at the top of their industry’s search results by accounting for common misspellings, keyword density, and harmful keyword repetition.
¶ I have developed many Flash/AS2/XML applications for web, kiosk and CD-ROM mediums, including: hurricane trackers, dynamic screen savers, stand-alone desk-top applications, video games, image galleries, slide shows, dynamic MP3/video players, RSS/XML feed readers, & dynamic community development lot maps (for the construction industry).
